Stop Neighbors Barking Dog

Tips On How To Make It Stop

Barking German Shepherd Picture Trying to stop neighbors barking dog while keeping the peace with your neighbor can be a bit tricky, but with a little fore knowledge on how to approach it there are some things you can do.

Read on to learn tricks that can bring peace back to your life and neighborhood.

Buddy Up to Your Neighbor's Dog...

Try visiting with your neighbor's dog. Stop by your neighbor's house to chat with him and while you're there spend a little time petting and talking to his dog.

Let the dog get used to your voice, your smell, and your friendly manner. Get to know his name so you can call him by name later. Then when he's barking at you over the fence you can talk to him and even pet him (if you can reach him). Just knowing you're a friend who the master's willing to invite into the home might be enough to get him to stop barking.

Talk to Your Neighbor...

If you're on pretty good terms with your neighbor you could just stop by and talk with him about his dog's constant barking. It'd be a good idea to talk to others in the neighborhood. If there are several who are frustrated about the dog, it might be easier to convince your neighbor to do something.

Some people will make the effort necessary just because they're good people who try to be good neighbors.

Anti-Barking Devices...

If your neighbor refuses to cooperate, you might have to take matters into your own hands. No, I'm not talking about shooting the dog. There's a much better way that can bring peace to your neighborhood and your neighbor probably won't even know what made the change (if he notices a change at all).

There are a number of anti-bark devices on the market that have enough range for you to stop neighbors barking dog from your own yard. These are really crafty devices and are difficult to spot. Some even resemble simple bird houses.

Set one of these devices on a pole or tree in your backyard and aim it at your neighbor's yard. With a range of 50 feet, the product is sure to reach your neighbor's dog's ears.

Then, when the dog barks, the device sends out a high pitched sound that only dogs can hear, but which drives them nuts. Generally, after a couple feeble attempts at barking, the dog gives up quickly.

It's a great option when you have an uncooperative neighbor because no harm is done to the dog, but he stops barking when he's outside. After that, any barking he might do will be in the house and the noise will be muted by walls for everyone in the neighborhood... except the owner.

If you decide to try to fix the barking of a neighbor's dog, make sure you handle the situation with as much dignity and delicacy as possible. After all, the reason you want the dog to stop barking is to bring peace back to the neighborhood. Causing bad relations with your neighbor isn't exactly going to accomplish that. So, be diplomatic about it.

Also, it's best not to talk to your neighbor when you're angry. Simmer down a bit before the conversation, otherwise you might alienate the neighbor, or worse, someone might end up with a bloody nose!

It can be tricky business, but you can stop neighbors barking dog with a little ingenuity.
