FEARLESS!!!!!
Samina-Rose is a four year old Newfoundland who
lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She has been trained with voice, whistle and hand commands as a "Water-Rescue" dog. Her affinity for water is extraordinary and her most favorite thing to do. In her short life she has already saved two little girls from drowning.
She is also an avid hiker and travels 15 miles everyday of her life....
through rain, snow, sleet, and or any inclimate weather imaginable, into the mountains of Colorado up to 11,000 feet. She always carries her own backpack with 40 lbs. of supplies and her double sleeping bag.
When we're up at 11,000 ft and the wind-chill dips to ten below zero, we climb into her sleeping bag and both stay warm and toasty throughout the night. My girlfriend is always complaining about not being able to go with us and asks why she can't go along. I tell her "When you can keep me as warm as Sammi-Dog, you can go too, but you have to carry your own sleeping bag!".
Samina-Rose is unbelievably FEARLESS. She is fiercely defensive of me when danger is imminent, and has defiantly stood her ground against two huge Black Bears and a Mountain Lion. Truly she is ONE OF A KIND and my very BEST FRIEND.
