Honey

Honey is a chow/retriever mix that I found on petfinder.com. I had been searching for a new dog for a couple weeks and I saw her and immediately called the shelter she was at. I was thrilled to find out she was still available for adoption.
It was one week before Christmas. She was scheduled to be euthanized in the next couple of days to make room for other dogs coming in. She was surrendered to the shelter. Her previous owner did not want her. To this day, I still cannot believe that someone would not want her.
She has been the best dog I have ever owned. When I adopted her, she was skin and bones, her fur was thin, part of her tongue was cut off, she had kennel cough, and worms. It took a couple of months to get her in good condition, but today she is a good weight, has a big healthy coat, and is in perfect health. She is happy and loves everyone and everything.
She was scared when I first got her and didn't like to be cuddled with, but now she insists on sleeping with me and is always at my side. She loves treats. She knows her tricks before I even tell her to do them. She knows how to beg, shake paw, switch paws, roller over, speak, and sit. She is amazing!
