Retired racing Greyhounds make wonderful family pets. Contrary to common belief, they require very little exercise, hence the nickname '40mph couch potatoes'. They walk well on the lead, hate going out in bad weather, and are docile and friendly dogs. Greyhounds can be ideally suited to elderly people, who are looking for a companion that asks for very little in return.
