Tico: People who live in Costa Rico have begun to call themselves “Ticos”, combining the “T” in Costa and adding the last three letters of “Rico”. The word sounds unique and, even though your little guy hails from Mexican ancestry, the term has a quite Spanish tone. Ticktoc: You’ll quickly find that your Chi’s nails, when trotting along on a wooden floor make a ticktoc sound, even just after a pedicure. Due to the way these little pooches scamper along, stepping forward on the foot, the nails contact the ground frequently. Yank: You might think this means “Yankee” but when applied to your Chi, it refers to the fact that your pooch likely loves to play tug with a small rope toy. You must take care when playing yank because the little pooch’s teeth can be pulled out if you tug too hard. Keep in mind the fragility of your little pal, but let him or her play gently with rope toys. Zonker: A masculine Doonesbury cartoon character, this somewhat ditsy guy is loveable even with his flaws. This unique Chi names is unusual enough that your Chi will love it and other pooches won’t respond when you call your little guy.
